Discover Buddha’s Art of Healing: Timeless Beauty & Spiritual Power of Thangka
While thousands of pilgrims walk around the great Boudhanath Stupa, softly chanting mantras, our artists at Buddha's Art of Healing sit quietly inside.
With calm focus, we hand-paint each thangkas and mandalas. Leading this incredible work is our master artist, Hom Bahadur Tamang, who has over 30 years of experience.
Let's take you on a journey through our thangka and mandala collections.

The Wheel of Life Thangka illustrates the entire cycle of birth, death, rebirth, and the path to liberation. Each element within the Wheel of Life Thangka carries profound spiritual meaning.
Within the Wheel of Life, the largest part of the wheel depicts six realms.
- God realm: Origin of pleasure and ease
- Demi-god realm: A state of experience characterized by jealousy, competition, and conflict, despite an abundance of possessions.
- Human realm: The most valued rebirth realm. Have the greatest chance to practice and liberate oneself.
- Animal realm: State of ignorance, instinct, and suffering.
- Hungry ghost realm: A realm of insatiable wanting and craving. Symbolizes addiction or spiritual emptiness.
- Hell realm: A state of suffering, or the outcome of extreme hatred and aggression.
Each realm reflects psychological and spiritual states experienced not just after death, but also within this lifetime.

Landscape Thangka art is another unique part of the Himalayan painting tradition.
These paintings represent the spiritual geography of the Himalayan world, where nature and enlightenment are intertwined.
