Shop Shakyamuni Buddha Thangka – Hand-Painted Buddhist Art from Nepal

Bring the presence of the historical Buddha into your home with this hand-painted Shakyamuni Buddha thangka. Created by skilled thangka artists in Nepal following traditional Tibetan Buddhist proportions, it shows the Buddha at the moment of enlightenment, seated in the earth-touching mudra and flanked by his two chief disciples. It is a centerpiece for an altar, meditation room, or sacred space.

Thangka Composition

• Radiant halo and aureole: A green and pink head halo sits within a body aureole of fine multicolored rays, symbolizing the light of wisdom.
• Lotus throne: He sits on a lotus seat
• Two chief disciples: On either side stand figures traditionally identified as Shariputra and Maudgalyayana, each holding a monk’s staff and an alms bowl.
• Offerings and landscape: Jewels, fruits, and offering vessels sit at the base. Peonies, rolling green hills, flowing water, and stylized clouds frame the scene.

Why Collectors and Practitioners Choose Shakyamuni Buddha Thangkas

• For practice: A focal point for meditation, reflection, and daily practice.
• For your space: A powerful centerpiece for an altar, shrine, yoga studio, living room, or office.
• For gifting: A meaningful gift for Buddhists, meditators, and lovers of Himalayan art.
• For the long term: Authentic hand-painted art holds its beauty and meaning for years.

Care and Display: Hang it away from direct sunlight, moisture, and smoke to protect the pigments. Traditionally, a thangka is hung at a respectful height, in a clean space, and never on the floor.
